The Tall Ships Regatta is brought to the Black Sea once again, following its huge success in 2014, thanks to the title sponsorship of Sovcomflot (one of the world's largest shipping companies) and its promotion of international youth sailing. The host ports will be Constanta (Romania), Novorossiysk and Sochi (Russia) and Varna (Bulgaria). The tall ships will be in Varna in end of September and early October 2016.
The lines of Varna resemble a 11 km long ampitheatre as it follows the curves of the Bay of Varna, surrounded by gardens, vineyards and groves. Sightseeing highlights include the imposing 19th century Varna Cathedral; a world famous festival and congress centre, roman baths and a busy programme of music, theatre and dance.
